~Mackinaw Straits Underwater Preserve~
July 12th - July 13th, 2008
$225 per person
The most popular wreck has to be the Cedarville, a HUGE freighter split in two just east of the bridge in Lake Huron. This wreck is over 580’ long and lies on her side, almost upside down. Another commonly dived wreck is the Sandusky, at a depth of 83’. This is a great dive where the bowsprit and figurehead are well recognized. There are many other wrecks in the area. We will pick the itinerary each day to accommodate divers wishes and of course the weather. We recommend staying in St. Ignace, with the many ferries to Mackinac Island. This trip provides fun for the whole family, divers and non-divers alike. Advanced open water certification is required for this trip.
Price includes:
- 2 tank dives per day
~Wreck of the Cedarville~
- Standard Air fill
Price does not include:
- Lodging, travel, gratuity or food
Munising – August 1st – 2nd, 2008 – $375 per person
Great for Open Water and Junior Open Water Divers! The Smith-Moore is a wooden steam barge in 90’ of water. This is the most famous shipwreck in the Pictured Rocks area. The Smith Moore was lost in the Munising East Channel on July 13, 1889 as a result of damages suffered in a collision. The wreck lies nearly intact on the sand bottom. Sea caves can be seen along the beautiful Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Most of the Sites are protected by Grand Island from the fury of Lake Superior. Very seldom are dive trips cancelled because of the weather. This will be a great trip for divers of all experience and the shipwrecks are in excellent condition. Underwater visibility is considered to be some of the best in the Midwest.
Cost Includes:
-2 dives each day
-Lodging at Sunset Motel for Friday and Saturday
-Air fills
